Our Church services and when we worship

St Jude's is an Evangelical Anglican Church. Its various services provide a range of worship styles to encourage all members of the community and spread the message of the gospel.

Baptisms:

Baptism is an acknowledgement of a personal Christian faith.   It involves the acknowledgement of Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour and a desire to repent or be sorry for those things which we have done which offend our God.

Baptism pictureIn infant baptism parents and God parents offer their prayers and encouragement on behalf of their children so that they may learn about Jesus and come to put their faith in Him as they mature.

Our Parish ministers are always happy to discuss your child's baptism with you.   Please call the Rector, Rev. Stephen Fifer, for an appointment.

As an Anglican church we also offer adult baptism.

Weddings:

Wedding pictureSt Jude's is a popular venue for weddings and couples come from all over to be married in the highlands.   We are sympathetic to the fact that there are many reasons for choosing St Jude's as a wedding venue.   We emphasise that we will conduct a Christian service at the same time allowing the couple to include various personal things into what is considered to be a traditional style.

We encourage couples to take part in a wedding preparation course, which is usually held on a Saturday between 9:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.   These courses are very popular and are held both in Bowral and in other conveniently placed locations across Sydney.

It is important to choose your wedding date and time with at least one months notice so that legal obligations can be fulfilled and adequate preparation made.   Please telephone the Rector, Rev. Stephen Fifer for further information.

Funerals:

Funerals are always sad occasions.   Our Anglican service is designed to offer comfort - allow for an element of thanksgiving and for personal contributions from the family if desired.   It also allows us to consider more deeply the Christian faith and the hope that we have in the risen Lord Jesus.   Parish ministers are always on hand to visit and to talk with you about the necessary arrangements
