Concert for a Pleasant Sunday Afternoon

A Concert for a Pleasant Sunday Afternoon will be held in St Jude’s Church, Bowral on Sunday 30 May commencing at 2.30pm. The program will include Organ, Vocal, Violin and Piano. Operatic Tenor Rob Langley will sing popular works “The Holy City” and “Panis Angelicus”. Emily Sindon, currently studying at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, will perform the Violin Suite “Baal Shem” by Ernest Bloch.She will be accompanied on piano by fellow student Oliver Stanton.

 

Sisters Katie Rowley and Melinda Richardson will sing a number of solos and duets including “Close every door” from Lloyd Webber’s “Joseph and the Amazing Technicoloured Dreamcoat”, Mozart’s “Laudate Dominum” and Faure’s “Cantique de Jean Racine”. They will be accompanied by their mother, Kim Stewart who will join her daughters in a performance of Mendelssohn’s famous trio “Lift thine eyes”. A special feature of the Concert will be the first public performance by the recently formed St Jude’s Junior Singers accompanied by Alison Bunyan.

 

The program will begin and end with organ solos by St Jude’s Organist Allan Beavis.
