When it was decided to hold an extraordinary general meeting on 8 November to discuss the parish redevelopment, I decided to interrupt the series on Romans for a special series in all services that focussed on the vision for our church and how the redevelopment of parish facilities will support this vision. After the information exchange evenings that were held earlier this year it became clear to me that many people had no vision for our church or were operating without an understanding of the range of ministries we are conducting. The series described below is designed to clarify the purpose of our church and how we can fulfil our mission to be an authentic Christian community in the Southern Highlands. This series is intended to provoke thought and discussion about God’s purpose for our church and how we can faithfully fulfil it. It is meant to prepare us to thoughtfully and prayerfully approach the special general meeting. Stephen Fifer.
