The Cathedral Singers at St Jude’s

Sunday 24 May at 2.30 pm

The Cathedral Singers will present a Concert and Evensong on Sunday 24 May commencing with a concert at 2.30 p.m. followed by Choral Evensong at 3.15 p.m.

The Concert will feature music by many of the great English composers – Byrd, Holst, Parry, Stanford and Howells. Evensong will include music of the nineteenth Century English composer Basil Harwood.

The Cathedral Singers is celebrating its twentieth anniversary in 2009. It was established to sing in St Andrew’s Cathedral when the Cathedral Choir is on holidays. While this remains one of its functions, its primary focus now is to take Cathedral style music to parish churches of all denominations throughout Sydney and beyond. This results in a busy schedule and the choir sings most Sundays of the year in Churches throughout Sydney. In 2007 the Singers toured England and Europe and sang in eight historic Cathedrals including Salisbury, Wells, Bristol and Norwich.

Admission is by donation.
